Just one day after her birthday on February 1, Kerry Washington shared an update of what her gorgeous coils look like post-haircut — and trust us when we say those curls are popping!

The Scandal actor shared three different selfies with her six million Instagram fans to show off the haircut. In each and every one of these photos, she is working her angles and giving us a few different views of the freshly-cut coils. Her curls surround her head like a halo with a few pieces falling on her forehead. Though plenty of these coils are well-defined, there’s also a lovely amount of frizz, which we love to see.
