This product comes in slim bullet-shaped packaging and the formula basically feels like a stick of butter (in the best way possible). The pigment just glides onto my lips, leaving them with a matte, but never dry finish. It’s as moisturizing as a balm but as matte as a liquid lipstick. 

So, how do they do it? According to cosmetic chemist Ginger King, the formula uses a combination of dimetheicone, a silicone polymer, dis-diglyceryl polyacylafipate-2, a lanolin alternative, and jojoba oil to moisturize lips, giving that “butter” like effect. “For the mattifying ingredients, the formula features a grouping of kaolin, silva, and nylon-12, all of which absorb excess oil and provide that no-shine look,” she says. 

This lipstick is lightweight, and truly feels like nothing is on my lips, which is pretty hard to find in a matte product. The transfer is also minimal — after wearing it on the subway with a mask on top, I was surprised to see little to no transfer. The tip of the product is also shaped to contour your cupid’s bow, so you don’t even need to use a lip liner with this.
