A Different World has been influential in our black culture for 35 years. This show influenced a lot of people to go to college and gave us hope that we can come out on top regardless of the different challenges we’re faced with. Imagine watching a TV show growing up that was relatable and inspired you to want to have that same experience. Well, that’s what A Different World gave us; it focused on real-life situations such as racism, domestic violence, police brutality, and many controversial topics that are involved in our everyday life. Each character brought their own personality to the show and we even got to see two people from different upbringings find love while going through different challenges in their relationship to find their happy ending.
