Despite the fact that Emma Chamberlain was born in 2001, the social media superstar looked like she walked right out of 1998 at the 2023 LACMA Art+Film Gala on November 4. Literally, she has zero memory of the ‘90s at all because she wasn’t even a twinkle in her parents’ eyes, but her shaggy brunette bob and monochromatic bronze makeup beg to differ.
Chamberlain attended the star-studded gala in a late ‘90s-esque bronze minidress with hair and makeup to match. Her dark hair, which currently just brushes her collarbone, was parted in the center and blown out into casual, easygoing bends and waves for a tousled look reminiscent of Meg Ryan’s signature ’90s shag. A small chunk of hair was brushed over one eye for even more effortless chic.
The influencer stuck to a bronzey palette for her makeup, brushing her lids with a shimmery copper shade with a slightly darker color on her lower lashlines for definition and to make her bright, pale blue eyes really stand out. She wore a similar hue on her lips, opting for a gorgeous coppery rose satin lipstick. Instead of plucking her brows into slim ’90s arches, Chamberlain kept them full and lush, brushing them up slightly but skipping any dark pencil or pomade. She finished off her throwback look with a matching brown manicure, proving that a brown-on-brown monochromatic moment is the definition of cool.
